By Little Fish in a BIG PONDFirst Things First
The biggest arguments surrounding Cape Wind seems to be about amendments. Who's amendment is above board (good) and whose was a backdoor deal (bad). You can argue all you want but the truth is someone is lying and isn't that the only thing that determines an argument. If you can determine who tells the worst lie, or the biggest or the most that normally leads people to the other side. But the only amendment issue I think is being dealt a dirty deal is the 1st Amendment.
Postulates and TheoremsI was taught in grade school that to prove things you needed to apply the use of rules or postulates and theorems. A postulate is a basic assumption that is accepted without proof while a theorem is a statement that can be proved. Most people that believe in God would say God can not lie and many would say the Devil is a liar and the truth is not in him. So let's call that the upper and lower limits of a liar. Between those limits are a whole bunch of liars, so let's narrow down the field. Animals (Excluding Homo Sapiens), don't lie, babies (until they learn that they can get things even if they don't need it by crying)don't lie and the dead don't lie. Unless you fall into one of those categories, you/me/we are all liars.
Even the worst liar on the planet tells the truth too and most everyday people only lie when asked questions like "does this dress make me look fat".
So those are my rules and my friend
"Magical Eye" has given me permission to write as a guest blogger on her site. (Walter Brooks blew one of several gaskets with her when she thought she had the right to ask people to do that. NIHBY (Not in his backyard) he makes up the rules there and only he can say what the law is there. He gives special privileges to his "paid" bloggers (ex. Jack Coleman). He allows some to post away and told Magical Eye she could post no more than two blogs per week. Her popular "
Against The Wind" post by Walters own words garnered the most traffic with a record more than 400 comments on one article alone. It would seem fair that if you paid a blogger at all you'd pay one that brought you traffic. No way Cape Cod Today. While some get the keys to the "executive elevator" all she got from him was the shaft. Well Magical has her own blog space here and has been invited to blog else where. To stop her ability to post and deny her even the right to comment until she submitted to his will was not the actions of an impartial judge and defender of the 1st Amendment. The fact that she said Mark Rodgers was lying was in fact a verifiable truth. Now he could have backed her up, he could have ignored it as being her opinion or he could have practiced his form of censorship and deleted the comments. But Walter choose to chastise her in his public forum in writing by calling her an angry zealot and demanding she bend to his will for all to see. Yeah right and I suppose you also believe Horseshoe Shoal is the only best place for an industrial wind power generator plant complex!
GIVE ME LIBERTY!His claim that she was endangering both herself and his business for a lawsuit was a lie. The disclaimer on his blog site is clearly all the defense he would need.
"eCape, Inc. And CapeCodToday.com (TM) neither endorses the contents of any blogger communications nor assumes responsibility for any threatening, libelous, obscene, harassing or offensive material contained therein, nor any infringement of third party intellectual property rights arising there from or any crime facilitated thereby."
To claim that it is Cape Cod Today's policy to not allow personal attacks is also a lie. But time to move along you get the point. Magical Eye did not need Cape Cod Today as much as they needed her. I for one am glad that this will help her to move on to bigger and better things!
"Writing is like prostitution. First you do it for love, and then for a few close friends, and then for money." - Moliere

Responsible members of the media are expected not to lie and we have laws to protect us from being lied to. It's written in black and white and it starts with the1stt amendment. So a true journalist by example can not lie. But suddenly there is something called "blogging" and a whole new media vista opens up where despite manipulations of chroma pixels what you are seeing is really "shades of gray". This is an area where the first amendment doesn't show up in black and white hard fast rules. A true journalist or "news person" would not normally choose to be a blogger. No self respecting news person would accept money for blogging and expect people to believe it was actually news. But some people wouldn't turn down a chance to make a quick buck. But the average blogger who is attempting to cover a story not just "shoot the breeze" is probably a journalist or writer wanna be that hopes someone will actually observe their talents and pay them one day for doing it. The migration of actual members of the news and press into the "blogosphere" is a postulate on my part that they want to be able to be protected by their first amendment rights and be saved from being held to the high standards of that right.
According to Walter Brooks of Cape Cod Today (The Blogfather) "Blogeto, ergo sum, I blog, therefore I am" So I guess Walter would cease to exist if he could not blog. But how does Walter stand on blogging and 1st Amendment rights? I guess it depends on how the strings are being pulled or the ties are being cut. We know that he said this;

I live by the principle that the First Amendment is more important that my personal views, and it's really rewarding when anyone (especially acritic) notices. Thank you, Walter "Well thank you, Walter (I think). But I feel that your actions speak louder than your words.
Walter's claim to live by the principle of the First Amendment is quite doubtful. (oops I forgot "ergo Blogeto" therefore I can can just say it... Walter's claim is a big fat hairy stinking greasy pustulant sucking scum that scum scrapes off the bottom of their feet trench coated lie and he's a liar to have said otherwise... in my opinion of course. To say that it is more important than his personal views is theoretically the truth. The 1st Amendment is of course more important then anyone's personal view. But judging by his recent actions it must be in actuality a lie. Walter let his personal views skew the principles for which he hangs, one blogger under purse strings with liberties to be taken by some and not for all. Just like Citizen Kane of the 1941 classic, he rules his empire with an iron fist and just as the real life character William Randolph Hearst said in the true spirit of all yellow journalist... "You furnish the pictures, I'll furnish the war." Is there any doubt in anyone's mind that this is a war not just a debate? Never has there been so much yellow tainted skewed reporting and comments since the Spanish-American war.
The Winds of WarWhile attending an expo at the Cape Cod Community College I had a chance to speak to many people and this one lady in particular touched me when she said almost crying;
"This thing is tearing my family apart. I wish this bill would just kill it and make it go away"She began to mention her son and all I heard her say was he was for it, and then she walked away. What was tearing apart her family was pretty obvious and it was causing her to wish what her son believes in to go away. How sad a mother
caught between a split of family ties. I bet some of you can
sympathize with it. How can this one project be so full of war and hate. That is what these spin doctors want you to feel. They tell you it is tied in with everything that causes people pain today. War, oil, political scandals, leadership issues, polls, etc etc etc. You name it and these marvelous graceful machines are supposed to be

the easy remedy. I'm surprised they are not selling people on the kinetic energy of 130 giant pendulums swaying benignly back and forth, back and forth, graceful and majestic, pleasing to the eye, no threat to the environment just the great power of the pendulum... follow it and listen to my voice... don't worry about the view don't worry about the birds, worry about the price of gas, worry about the war, worry about the seas rising and a hole in the sky and melting glaciers and air pollution and little Timmy's asthma.... but we can start to clear it up if you just listen.....
CAPE COD TODAY - Media Watch It's official - the game is rigged 04/20/06 12:56 pm posted by Jack Coleman 04/23/06 @ 2:42 pm Jack Coleman (registered blogger) writes: "Really, Little Fish -" "Apparently you are unable to distinguish between news articles I wrote while at the Times and my First Amendment right to an opinion now" Frankly I think making that distinction sounds more like a Walter Brooks problem. I know that Jack Coleman is no longer considered a reporter and clearly everything he writes about is his opinion. Do you expect a guy that gets paid to blog to have an honest opinion or do you expect him to have an opinion that is handed out to him along with his pay envelope? Any body want us to start on poll on that?
Jack I know the difference between a news reporter and just another gossip columnist littering the information superhighway with their own garbage of an opinion so there was no need to point it out to me. But before I start sounding like an angry zealot let me say in all fairness that Jack has paid me compliments and in fact most recently said on Cape Cod Today;
05/01/06 @ 5:08 pm Jack Coleman (registered blogger) writes:"I wasn't aware Little Fish was told he wasn't welcome. He's welcome in my book. People like Little Fish force us to sharpen our argument by disagreeing with us, because they are not always wrong."So I guess I should say something nice about Jack. Now I could say something really nice and then call myself a liar but that would be too amateurish even though I am not a professional by any means. Just a "little fish" in a big pond. Jack you are not always wrong except when it comes to most of the things you say about Cape Wind. But I can honestly say if it wasn't for you (and this can go for Walter too), I'd still just be what the Cape Cod Today staff calls the commentors. A barnacle. Now I don't have to type in CAPITALIZE words for emphasis I can make them BOLD like you and the other Bloggers. I only wish I was around in the early days. The word blog and all it's variation is a marketing nightmare as far as I am concerned. Sounds like a cheap beer. Well I'll see you around Jack, you are welcome here anytime in my book. But for the record this is Magical Eye's book and if she closes the covers on you, oh well! I'll look in from time to time but I have nothing to say there that can't be said better here. Walter's Yellow Pages have lost it's appeal. Besides, I'm gonna be busy on the next, and the next and the next. You ain't seen nothing yet.
By the way someone pass this on to the "anon" character that thinks there was an "innuendo" made about a commentor that was personally attacking Magical Eye and was doing it from the Army Corps of Engineers offices. That was not an innuendo that was indeed a verifiable fact and with all the talk about "law suits" I would say that situation would not be blown off by the courts or the employers. That is one thing all bloggers need to know. You can be fired. I highly advise people to look at http:\\www.eff.org to learn some truth about what the law says is the law.
ABOUT LITTLE FISH (Aka Stephen W. Williams)
Today I proclaim myself to be a "Blogger" that makes me quite unique. Just like the estimated more than 8 million people worldwide that blog. That entitles me to certain rights and privileges. Or does it? It can be quite confusing. Some people are familiar with me as being a "critic" of the Cape Wind proposal to put 130 wind turbine generators into 24 square miles of federal waters currently held in the public trust. Let me make it perfectly clear that I am personally against this particular project. I am not against wind energy. By giving no other "alternative site" for their proposed industrial wind power complex, Cape Wind gives me no choice but to be against them. They refuse to site it any place other than in my backyard and I don't want it there, selfish bastard that I am. It's that simple. They call people like me NIMBYs (don't you hate it when people spell out what that stands for as if nobody ever heard it before?). I think the indigenous people of this hemisphere first said it when they saw the ships coming. Too bad no one listened. By the way, depending on how you look at it, my "backyard" is anyplace surrounding my home in NY or on the East Coast or in the US or North America or skipping to the chase the planet. That is my backyard and if Jim Gordon can not think of another place to put his 130 417 foot monopoles of intermediate wind shucking bird plucking mind sucking machines any other place than I don't trust him putting it in one of my favorite spots of my backyard. That isn't much to ask is it?
